Day 9 - Johnson Farm, Columbus Temple on our way to Nauvoo

Day 9 found us at the Johnson Farm in Hiram, Ohio. Jason's family can be traced from the Johnson's. I was able to sign the "Family Book" for him.

The Johnson Farm

The farm house. This is the house that Joseph Smith was dragged from and tarred and feathered. The next morning he taught a sermon on Forgiveness from the front steps.

After the Johnson Farm we drove to Columbus, Ohio and saw the temple. It is a small temple. The size of a meeting house.

After Columbus, we drove towards Nauvoo. We took a lovely scenic route through Indianapolis (not on purpose) and eventually we found our way to the back roads of Illinois. Due to construction that may or may not have blocked a road, we enjoyed the very scenic drive to Keokuk, Iowa. This is a picture of the sunset in farm country.
