Day 8 - Niagra Falls and Kirtland, Ohio

This morning we drove a short distance and across an island to Niagra Falls. We stayed on the American side of the falls. I was amazed at the sound. The rushing and falling water. It was awesome to see and hear.
Niagra Falls - Horseshoe Falls
American Falls behind me. You can also see the observation tower. I was not brave enough to go out on it.
The crazy people that went down to the base of the American Falls.

After enjoying the spectacular views of Niagra Falls, we drove to Kirtland, Ohio.

The Kirtland temple. The Community of Christ church owns and conducts the tours through this temple. It was interesting to note the difference in the way the tour was conducted here verse LDS owned sites. However, it is still an amazing place and very beautiful inside and out.

Sitting on a bench on the grounds of the Kirtland temple.
The Great Ladies - Me (of course), Karen, Cherranne, and Tiffany
Whitney Store - Site of the first Bishop's Storehouse. We learned many things about the Whitney's and all that happened in this store in relation to the church. One of the main things was, the Word of Wisdom revelation was given in the upstairs room.

Johnson Inn (Story found in D&C 96)

Sawmill

The water wheel at the sawmill.

We stayed in Willoughby, Ohio for the night and had a very relaxing evening.
(Unless you wanted to get online)

I love your photos. It is good to be reminded of all of the cool things we saw and did. The falls were awesome- in the true sense of the word- and Kirtland is such a special place. The School of the Prophets really gets me every time.

Been thinking about Joseph today since it is the anniversary of the martyrdom.
