Fall

I Love Fall

I hate raking leaves.

So it's kind of bitter sweet. Know what I mean? Anyhoo, the leaves in the back of the truck, bound for the compost dump, are great fun to play in. Isaac and his friend Connor had a blast covering each other in leaves and generally making a HUGE mess!

The other kids had fun also. Josh talked on the phone (like any normal 6 year old boy) and Emma hung out by the big tree.

A good fall day is not complete without walking the puppy down by the creek. Posted by Picasa

Provo Canyon

Since we moved to Utah county 5 years ago, one of my favorite places to go is Provo Canyon. The road is great to drive on and the scenary breathtaking. Bridal Veil falls is a family favorite. A couple Sundays ago we went up the canyon with my Mom. Here are some pictures of our outing.

Last Book Fair post - I promise

Come Take A Wild Reading Ride To The Book Fair Safari!

Well, the wild ride (for me) is over for a few months. I am a bit relieved and yet disappointed. I had alot of fun seeing all the students and meeting all the teachers. It was a great experience.

We (the PTA) were able to fulfill all the teachers wish list. We gave more then $2300 in books to the teachers for their classrooms. We also gave $800 to the school library. The teachers were grateful and happy.

I had excellent volunteers that helped to make the Book Fair a success. 33 women and 1 man that made my job alot easier. They helped during the fair checking people out and helping locate books. My committee of 3 wonderful ladies: Diana, Alisa, and Laurie spent alot of time and effort doing the decorations, guessing jar, and making sure all the shifts were filled. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Each class from 1st grade to 6th grade came through the Book Fair on their library time. It is great to see the excitment the students show as they discover new books or find favorite old ones.
The parents were also great to see and talk to.
When I called Scholastic to see about the final things I needed to do, I was told that we had made about $1000 more then last years fall Book Fair. I am so glad that it was a succuss.
I am now able to get back in the old routine of laundry and dishes and homework. I look forward to it.

I am completely obsessed with the Book Fair. You get to hear about it again (it won't be the last time). We had a great first day. If you would like to see the progress toward our goal of $4000, visit our Book Fair homepage. The link is at the side of this blog. If you haven't already, come and see us. If you have, come back! We are in the library at Brookside.

For those of you to far away to visit, I will be posting pictures soon.

So....if you live around Springville come next week and visit. I have linked the Book Fair website for Brookside Elementary at the side of the blog. All the info. about times and dates is there. Meerkat Manor

Thanks to Jason and his ever thoughtful ways, I am now hooked on another TV series. Meerkat Manor. I am not sure when or where it is on, but when you get free DVDs from the SL library it doesn't matter.

In case you don't know, Meerkat Manor follows a family of meerkats about their daily lives. Mostly scanning the skies for predators and digging for food. There are dramas, comedies, tragedies. It has it all. I am so into the lives of these meerkats. One episode in and I found myself caring about them. What's going to happen next? Is there such a thing as a happy ending in the meerkat world? After watching them for hours on end, I can even tell the family members apart.

Do I need help??

Up and Running!

OK, here we go. I have finally started a blog of my own. I have been peeking into the lives of others without inviting them into my own. Now you can have a look. Oh, don't look to close or you will see the cobwebs, stains, smears, etc.

I enjoy new adventures and I am sure this will be one. As "they" say, "Fasten your seat belts and hang on."
